The Tailgating division within REVELxp is the nation’s leading provider of pre-game or event hospitality solutions, particularly providing individual and group full-service tailgates.
Job Description
Regional Business Manager is the financial leader of a region within the Tailgating Division. This role works closely with the Regional Vice President of the region, General Managers of tailgating properties, as well as REVELxp financial and accounting resources. This role coordinates all financial aspects of the Tailgating region including budgeting, operational reporting, analysis, revenue tracking and recognition, expense monitoring and recognition, and partner royalty reporting. Ultimately the Regional Business Manager helps the team and leadership leaders (1) to manage the business efficiently, (2) to know how things are going and have real time information on key metrics, (3) to find earnings improvement regularly and repeatedly, and (4) to set up those properties and business lines to provide extraordinary service to clients and fans.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand, monitor, and track revenues and receivables on properties and lines within your area.
- Help track season-long and game-by-game sales and facilitate revenue recognition and assure that systems have reliable information on sales, delivery dates, revenue recognition, and A/R associated with those sales.
- Ensure that REVELxp is paid promptly and fully and that payments are properly applied to outstanding A/R. (others likely have collections responsibilities and cash posting duties, but you need to assure transparency into collections status and needs)
- During sales seasons, track sales against plan and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Be able to successfully project the revenue and expense for each game.
- Understand, anticipate and accrue expenses and to watchdog expense savings.
- Managing expenses by: Divvy (expense management software) oversight and training (use, coding, budgeting, approvals, app, etc.) on a weekly and sometimes daily basis; invoice review and associated disbursement approval; approve purchase order by weekend for accrual and comparing to actual invoice and negotiating if necessary; authority and willingness to pushback on expenses REVELxp shouldn’t have to pay; and call out team members who need accountability on spending.
- Accrue and report royalty reporting.
- Help track expenses to proper property, business line and expense codes (crucial to monitor against budget plans for each property).
- Need to learn the people and events leading to expenses so that expenses are minimized or mitigated before incurred and people are held accountable for misses.
- To assist in the creation of property level budgets and the monitoring of those budgets.
- Budget creation in line with revenue and expense expectations.
- Weekly monitoring of performance against budget.
- Have general business knowledge of tailgating and your specific region to understand the business of your properties to better forecast financial performance to plan (ongoing) and to budget better (annually). Real-time review of revenues and expenses to assure timely forecasting and implementation of adjustments.
- Understand the key roles of everyone on the team (sales and operations, become an expert of the business).
- Understanding of business plan for each University within region.
- Make connections with the University A/P departments.
- Understand all partner, vendor, and other contracts.
- Outside busy seasons, help with systems improvement to make the place better for the next busy season.
- Serve as liaison with accounting team and corporate finance function, to assist with periodic financial reporting, proper accounting treatments, and planning.

- Participates in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to facilitate expansion, compliance, and scaling of the business.
